CËE THE WORLD: MELBOURNE

It's been almost 2 weeks since I'm back from Australia and I'm still acclimatising to the humidity and heat here (alright, who am I kidding, I'm never going to get used to the heat). Since I got back I've been catching up on work which consisted mainly of shooting and editing photos, and by the time I decide to edit the photos taken from my trip, my vision becomes blurry. Not complaining though, I love this 'job'.

Seems like Melbourne is known as one of the best cities to go cafehopping in, so of course, my first meal has to be at one. I've heard so much about The Kettle Black even before my trip, and since it wasn't very far from my airbnb apartment, as soon as we unpacked and freshened up we took a tram over. I've been warned by many living in Melbourne that the tram routes might be a little confusing, which was quite true. Thankfully, I had Peiying to show me around during the 3 days I was there.

Throughout my stay, the weather was very very beautiful! Although it got pretty cold in the evenings, the mornings and afternoons were perfect for strolling about.

Is it just me or do you find yourself constantly eating when you're travelling? The 13°c weather didn't stop us from getting gelato shortly after stopping for coffee at Brunetti.

I cannot remember who was the one who recommended Hammer & Tong to me, but hey I heard ya! On the second day, Peiying and I met up with Agia and Lavenia for breakfast. I had the Soft shell crab burger which was so good and it went downhill from then, because I think I had a total of 3 (or possibly more) soft shell crabs the entire time I was in Australia.

How not to love this city? We spent our 2nd evening 88 floors above ground watching as the sun set below the horizon. 5pm sunsets were a novelty, but as someone who is used to 12 hours of sunlight and depends heavily on natural lighting for photos, I don't know how I can survive during winter months.

Maybe I wasn't there long enough to find something that I dislike, but I really love this city, the people, the vibe, EVERYTHING. I look forward to going back there again after I've gotten my driver's licence perhaps.

I had another soft shell crab burger at Top Paddock on my last day in Melbourne. What can I say? I might be addicted to soft shell crabs. After brunch, we headed to St Kilda Beach (gave the Brighton Bathing boxes a miss).

Of course, everything has to come to an end but I never liked saying goodbyes, I prefer 'see you later' or 'see you soon'. I like the idea of saying 'see you soon' because no matter what happens, you know that one day, possibly, you'll meet again. Will try to start editing the photos from Sydney before school starts next week. More photos up on my Instagram, see you there!

Stay gold, xx
