Sarah Moon x NARS Holiday Collection 2016

Today I'll be doing a quick review on some of the products I was sent. The entire collection ranges from lipsticks to eye makeup to nail polishes. After attending the preview for the Sarah Moon x Nars Holiday Collection a couple of weeks ago I got really excited for the launch. At the preview, I was also able to try the Moon Matte Lipstick in Indecent Proposal and I think I'm going to get my hands on one soon! Indecent Proposal is a beautiful rosey nude shade with a matte finish.

Get Real Lip & Eye Set

The packaging for this set is pretty dope, definitely makes a great gift! In it you'll get a Black Moon Audacious mascara and 2 mini-sized Audacious Lipsticks in the shade Bette and Leslie (L-R). Bette is officially my new favourite lip colour! These mini-sized Audacious lipsticks are the cutest!

True Story Cheek & Lip Palette

In this set you get: a full-sized Velvet Matte lip pencil in Mysterious Red, and 4 blushes.

Devotee: I'm not really a fan of this highlighting blush; it's not very pigmented but once I build it up, it just looks frosted. Why can't I win?
Myth: Limited edition shade. Just like Devotee, I don't think it's very pigmented - swatched it with my fingers and then tried it with a brush.
Unwritten: This is also a limited edition shade. Another matte shade and rather pigmented, however, on my skin it looks really light.
Outlaw: Very pigmented and has an iridescent/shimmer look to it, almost like Orgasm (a cult favourite). If you have the Orgasm blusher, y'know what I'm talking about. In comparison to Orgasm, Outlaw is a lot darker so a little goes a long way.

Overall, I feel that Outlaw has the most payoff in terms of colour but all the powder blushers are very easy to blend and buildable. I would like to add that while swatching the colours to do a review (this blog post), I only did 2 layers.

VELVET LIP GLIDE

The Velvet Lip Glide comes in 13 shades. It glides on really smoothly but I like to dab on the product and blend it out with my finger. If you apply a thin coat, the product dries down to a matte finish fairly quickly. BUT if you apply it directly from the wand, it leaves you with a glossier finish. It doesn't feel sticky or heavy on the lips, don't we all just hate glosses that are so darn sticky?!

Deviant (Left): A burgundy/deep red shade that I'm obsessed with. I love to layer my lip colours and Bette + Deviant just go so well together. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but NARS' lip products are so pigmented and they can last all day - extra brownie points!

La Main Bleue (Right): A rich berry shade that I personally am not a fan of because I don't think it suits my skin tone but fairer skin girls would definitely be able to pull this one off.

So whether you're getting these for yourself or a gift for someone, you have to act fast! Since they're limited edition, they won't be around for long.
