My Winter Skincare Essentials

Happy New Year you guys! First post of the year, hello! As I've just returned from my trip to New York, I thought I would share a couple of skincare products that I brought along with me to bear the brunt of the cold harsh east coast winter.

As we all know, winter can be unforgiving for your skin. Without enough moisturisation, you'll probably end up like a scaly reptile. I've tried to pack light for my skincare and makeup, but I knew I had to bring these products along. Fortunately, some of these products are travel-friendly sizes.

⋒ LA MER Treatment Lotion

I've started using this last year and just can't live without it anymore, so despite the size, I decided to take it along with me. I think it's a really good base for you to prep your skin prior to your serums and other skincare products, helping the ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin. Just a few drops is more than enough to feel the instant hydration.

⋒ SEPHORA COLLECTION Brightening Eye Cream

This eye cream contains 97% natural ingredients, and is formulated with hyaluronic acid and caffeine. It is light, fast-absorbing and definitely not oily, all that I look for in an eye cream. Does a pretty good job at keeping my under eyes moisturised and reduces puffiness. If you're looking for an eye cream that works and doesn't break the bank, here's your answer! FUN FACT: the packaging is made of 55% plastic from sugar cane residue.

⋒ JURLIQUE Moisture Plus Rare Rose Serum

I've always enjoyed using Jurlique's serums as they are lightweight and fast-absorbing. The Rare Rose serum provides intense longer-lasting hydration, which was definitely what I needed! First off, can I just say how much I love the light rose fragrance. Secondly, the serum works well with my combination skin, leaving my skin soft and dewy while helping with oil-control. It also works perfectly under makeup and on its own.

⋒ ESTEE LAUDER Advanced Night Repair Intense Reset Concentrate

On days when I feel like I need a little bit more help on my skin, due to the climate, I will use Estee Lauder's latest addition to the ANR range. Not only does it aids in calming irritated skin, it also gives you the boost of hydration. The light lavender fragrance also helps relieve stress and calm me down.

⋒ LA MER Crème de La Mer

For the last step in my skincare routine, I'm ending it with another one of La Mer's best sellers, and it's not hard to see why. This moisturiser is so rich that it helped with any dryness I first experienced. I tried to use it daily day and night to make sure that my skin would remained hydrated and supple. Here I'm just using a sample that I got from their recent pop-up, it's so cute and fun-sized!

⋒ ORIGINS Mega-Defense Advanced Daily UV Defender

Don't ever forget sunblock! PLEASE. If you've been following me for a while, you would've probably seen me raving about this very product. Why? Not only does it helps shield your skin against harmful UVA/UVB rays, it also prevents damage caused by pollution and other environmental irritants. This 100% non-chemical sunscreen is also lightweight and non-sticky, perfect for everyone but especially my peeps with combination/oily skin. Does it leave a white cast on your face? NOPE. Does it smell great? YES.

⋒ JURLIQUE Rosewater Balancing Mist

Stressed? Spritz a little. Dry skin? Spitz a little. Bored? Just spritz away. If you're looking to instantly refresh your skin throughout the day, this works perfectly! My only complaint really, is that I wish I remembered to purchase a smaller bottle so I could have brought it onboard the plane.

Thank you all for reading till the end! I've so much more beauty posts lined up for the first quarter of 2020 and I'm so excited to get back into the swing of things. I pretty much abandoned my blog in the later half of 2019 because life got pretty hectic, but I'm going to try to get back into doing what I enjoy most and I hope you'll stick around for the ride.
